As others mentioned there is always a reason, good luck finding it since there can be many causes. I had a Ford van back in 1987 that would stall clean for no reason at all. After dozens of trips back to the dealer and the best techs looking at it they had to buy it back. Hopefully your stalling doesn't happen again. If the gas tank was full I would start my search by looking at the IAC, fuel filter, and TPS. A bottle of Red Line Complete Fuel System cleaner won't hurt either. JMO
I don't think it is anything fuel related. That probably would have involved some sputtering. It just was off.
I tried to reproduce what happened, but I can't get it to stall again. If it does it again, I will start serious troubleshooting, but until then I'm not throwing parts and money at a one time incident that I can't reproduce.
My sister's Mazda 3 had it's one time stalling incident over four years ago and hasn't repeated it, so I'm hoping mine will be the same.
I wouldn't toss parts at it either until I could either get it to happen again, or tripped a CEL light and pulled a code. Anything else IMO is a guess at best.
