ESSO XD-3 REFORMULATED!!!

Check out the new PDS for the Esso XD-3 oils - all the oils, EXCEPT the 'older' 15W-40, have been re-formulated with 1200ppm zinc, and abot 2300ppm calcium. TBN has dropped accordingly, and is now ONLY around 7 or 8 for all oils, except for the 'old' 15W-40:

And, as we saw in another post, to go with this change in product, the price has gone up about by about 50%.....

Oh well, I guess it was good while it lasted...never got a chance to try the 'strong stuff'.....

Why move on, it's still a good product. They just reformulated to meet the newer specs.

that too bad... but at least PAO is still the base oil !
i tried a bit and cant find the "other post". i guess the price must be close to top tier synthetic now.
