I just installed a ductless mini split system and love it, now I'm looking for thru wall heat recovery vents but can't seem to find much that's worth paying for.

The mini split system has cut my heating and cooling costs substantially, plus the house feels warmer due to the DC inverter technology adjusting output as needed.

The old central heating ducts leaked so much that air was being drawn in to make up for the leaks. Now I need a thru wall ERV or HRV to get some fresh air inside.

The cost of the simple thru wall units is astronomical for what you get. And I haven't found many units to choose from.

I figure there has to be an affordable option out there somewhere.

Thanks

Your central had fresh air before? we have 6 heads inside 3 on a 30000 btu 3 on 36000 btu and a 18000 btu in detached garage. no fresh air on any. our house is a 1947 so not exactly tight but has been updated with no issues ac wise

I have a very tight house, so it has very little air exchange unless it's forced.

I went with a 36,000 btu Senville 3 zone. So far its worked well, we've had Temps down to 13f this year and it stayed at 70f in the house.

We have forced air, a wood stove and a propane fireplace. All are either expensive or extra work. These were in the house when I purchased it.

Cooling in the summer was about $50 per month less, heating is a little more than $150 per month less, and this is without using the wood stove. In the colder months I'll use the wood stove more, so it will even more savings over the forced air system.

Next week I will be putting a smaller unit in a room in the shop that my wife uses.

I installed everything myself, the bids I got were ridiculous. When researching everyone said installation prices were far higher than what they should be, and it was true.
