I have a 22 year old Toyota Landcruiser, 4.2L diesel, no turbo with 400,000km on the clock.
When I start driving, the engine sounds rough with first rattling then whining.
After it heats up, it runs just fine.
It runs 10W40. It never gets cold here in the tropics.
Would a heavier oil, say 20W50, be an improvement or would that cause me any problems?
