G-Oil VOA's have been controversial. The PQIA virgin oil analysis (sample #1) posted below appears at URL:
http://www.pqiamerica.com/January2012A/January2012R2/goil.htm. In April of 2012, I submitted a VOA sample (#2a) to Wear Check and received questionable results that did not match the PQIA analysis.
In May, I asked Wear Check to retest the original sample that I had sent to them. The results (#2b) were closer to that measured by PQIA. This produced a storm of controversy in this thread:

My October used oil analysis sample (#3) below was obtained following a coolant leak. On October 3, 2012, I stopped for a gas fill-up, noted the mileage and proceeded onto the highway. There was nothing amiss during the fill-up. 14 miles later, I noticed the engine overheating and pulled over. A coolant hose had burst and steam rose from the engine compartment. At that point, the G-Oil only had 493miles on it. After making repairs, I completed my trip home and submitted a used oil analysis with 940 miles on the oil. Sample (#4) was the new oil that replaced the overheated sample (#3) and has 943 miles.
A comparison of samples (#3) and (#4) contrasts the overheated oil (#3) with non-overheated oil (#4). Both are used oil analysis.

The amount of contaminants, such as silicon and sodium, are higher in the overheated oil (#3) than in the non-overheated oil (#4). Wear indicators, such as the amount of metals, appear slightly higher in the overheated oil (#3) than in the non-overheated oil (#4).
