Should I Change Engine Oil After Van Overheated?

Okay, this is interesting, i talked to a parts store guy here and he says the heat bevaviour is normal for those caravans, because the heatercore part is much above the cooling system behind the firewall so it takes longer for the coolant to get inside and start circulating in the heatercore, so maybe that's why i'm having this problem. Could this be true? as i've never owned a caravan before. Maybe some caravan owners can post their suggestions.

Don't know about that, as I said, my sister has the '97 Caravan with the same engine/tranny as yours, that thing heats up quick, even on a very cold night.

Is yours having this problem ALL the time or just after having sat for >8hrs on a cold night/day?

No, this problem isn't all the time but after it's sat for 8 or more hourse on a cold night/day, more so on the very cold nights, i can warm it up for like 10 minutes in which time the temperature gauge is all the way up to normal operating temp and drive a few miles but still i hardly get any heat, but throughout the day after the first trip as i make other short trips then it's fine, then i start getting full heat as i should. The coolant i've used is the motomaster long life global coolant with 2/3 coolant and 1/3 water ratio.
