My 1994 infiniti j30 makes like a roar noise when i accelerate or rev over 2k but does not make any noise when the engine is just running.Exhaust leak maybe or fan?

Typical working operation for a mechanical clutch fan. At lower RPM's the fan clutch is engaged so the fan is spinning at engine speed for better cooling. Hold the revs and the roar should disappear as the fan clutch starts to slip letting the fan slow down.

sounds like the typical failure of an electronically controlled fan clutch. They are designed to fail safe - which means the fan is on all the time. I would guess you need to replace your fan clutch.

I took it to a mechanic and he said its coming from the fan and i would need to replace the fan clutch. When i rev the motor you can hear the roar but when its just idling nos ound so this is not normal for it to roar when reving or accelerating?

Yes.

My GMC roars for a block after a long idle (clutch fan) ... Always has ...
I spun the fan today - all is tight ...

If you hold the engine about 2,000rpms the fan roar should disappear. If it still roars the fan clutch went into failsafe so it's stuck engaged. It's normal to not hear the fan roar when idling because the fan isn't spinning as fast.
