Engine and Oil Heater Reduces Wear

I saw the video the other day. His main point was not so much about block and oil heaters, or his impractical experiment. His main point was that most of those extremely high mileage vehicles were driven extremely high miles in a very short period. Such as work and transportation vehicles started up in the morning and driven all day. Tons of miles in between cold starts.
In reality the average American drives 14K miles a year which would take them about 36 years to reach 500K miles, 71 years to reach a million. Most people have grown bored with their cars in 10 years, or the cars panels have rusted off.

My take is that people are unwilling to see the bigger picture here: arguing about viscosity, brand, semi-syn vs full syn is less important than simply keeping your oil fresh with any old oil and avoiding cold starts when possible.

This flies in the face of everything BITOG represents and will simply not be a popular viewpoint. Sorry.

Also, consider that if you say "I'll never reach that mileage so I'm not going to use a heater" then you also can't argue about why you'll only use Pennzoil Ultra Super Titanium Platnum Plus Plus because it's better for your engine. You're either striving for longevity or you're not.

This is like only eating organic food but smoking a pack a day.

Again, none of this fits the BITOG narrative so I'll just be attacked. That's cool.
