Just took delivery from Walmart.com today. While inspecting the filter it appeared to me that the ADBV might be upside down? If anyone has the same one and could offer a comparison photo it would be much appreciated. My photos are poor but hopefully offer some explanation. Thanks

I would tend to agree, however I also bought a 7317 who’s box shows the same orientation of the photo you provided above “upside down” appearance, but actually has a “traditionally” installed ADBV. 🤷🏻‍♂️

That's an Endurance FE7317 ? If so, Fram is probably just using the same style ADBV that was used on the XG models. If that's the case, look down into the center tube and you'll see the ADBV extending down into the center tube. It can't really be installed backwards.

Yes it’s an FE7317.

I was looking for a wire mesh backed filter now that Fram Ultra XG10060 is no longer wire backed. This is for my 2013 Cadillac CTS-V. I I see the Fram FE10060 is wire backed, but the bypass setting is 22 psi instead of 15 psi for XG10060. Is it safe to use the FE10060 with the higher bypass setting?

Yes

Got it, thanks for replying! Another option is the Royal Purple 10-48 as that has the correct bypass setting and wire backed media.
What is the "correct bypass setting", and who is specifying what it should be to "correct"?

Keep in mind that if you look at 10 different filter brands all specified for your engine that they will not all have the same bypass setting because the setting is as dependent on the filter design as it is on the engine it's going on.

The 10060 should be the same as the AC Delco PF48 spec, which is 15 psi. The 12060 should be the same as the PF64, which is 22 psi. Otherwise, the PF48 and PF64 are identical; so it should be the same with the Frams. There's a chance it's a typo in their data. What does it list for a bypass setting on the FE 12060?
