Elon to announce the Model "C"

In a formal recognition of the owners who are the only people dumb enough to buy his cars, Musk is releasing the Model C; for Model Cult.
Henry Ford was shouted at for being "dumb" and "insane" for looking past riding a horse like a "normal person" for driving his gasoline powered car that he painstakingly built. Similar to Elon Musk, Ford was one of humankind's most successful people. Have you actually met any Tesla owners and listened to their love for their Teslas?

One or 2. We got our's in Dec 2018. Gonna buy another, too. All good.

Not a bad looking electric econobox. Not particularly thrilling but it will be attractive to consumers who want a moderately priced EV. At least the front doesn't look like a baby Beluga whale.

Now let's see how quickly they can start delivering them. I predict if they can make a half million of them first year they will sell as quickly as they can get them out the door.

Alarmguy, you are aware that the "criminal investigation" of Tesla has now been going on for a year ? And that the Justice Department will have an EXTREMELY difficult time proving their case ? Maybe we'll see another NHTSA investigation into Tesla too. Sounds like someone is Washington is nervous about what Elon will do with Twitter and the harassing investigations will continue.

I thought the Model 3 was supposed to be the cheap one, but they sold very few at the $35K price and now don't even offer them that cheap, the least expensive model is $48,490. And they obfuscate the actual price on their website by saying you're getting a $6000 discount on gas savings.

I guess we'll see where the Model C ends up at.

tesla price.webp

9/10 Model 3’s around here are the Dual-Motor LR version. If you can afford $55K then you can afford $65K…

Tesla has the technical prowess to build a compact car that rocks. Whether they do or not is another matter. Clearly people want SUV's.

Of interest to me, today's typical vehicle (the small to mid size SUV) is not all that different in practicality, when compared to the late 1930's sedans. Tall bodies, large seats, plenty of luggage room. My point is that while small cars do sell, small-medium SUV's from the RAV4 and CRV seem to be hot ticket.

I agree for sure. I could be wrong or better said an assessment media story. Yeah there is a story for everything, I know.
Given the lofty price valuation of the stock there will be a concern once they do start production of a lower cost product that Wall Street inst going to like seeing the profit margin drop, it’s possible it’s already built into the stock price because the market is usually ahead of the reality
But who June? I don’t 🙃

Musk has stated the smaller car would have to meet Tesla's margin standards, but he sez lotsa things. The plan is to take everything they have learned (especially from their mistakes), build it in the right place (Giga Shanghai) with the appropriate materials.

It is only a matter of time.

@alarmguy is a straight up guy with outstanding contributions to this forum.
Whether or not he agrees with me...
Wow, thank you, I enjoy our conversations too and as you know enjoy debate 😉 I learn from them as well and I LOVE to learn as well as living life to its fullest.
It is hard sometimes in a forum trying to convey a point with words, we all interpret what we read in our own way. Im glad a few people see that in my posts because I do work on trying to properly word things all the time. *LOL* I also know sometimes I can do a bad job of that, Im certainly not perfect but I always do mean to help. yeah, and maybe a bit strong at times in my convictions *LOL*

One thing I am not is a rocket scientist but my neighbors and friends know I can be counted on to help them out with practical ideas and solutions in the everyday world be it all things electronics, plumbing, electrical, vehicles, homes ect. One neighbor stops by pretty frequently and the whole community always asks about our landscaping.

Technology from the likes of you such as your solar system and people like Overkill with his knowledge of electricity production I find fascinating, since a kid everything electrical and electronics have amazed me. As a mostly grown up kid my friends parents and my own family always came to me on advice for sound systems.
Have a great night, as you know we are in the middle of a move, pretty stressful as buyers want to be close middle of Nov which is in the contract, have some reasonable things to take care of from the inspection report and Nov 7 th I have that procedure so really have to be all set up before then. as 9 days later we have to be out of the house and I won't be able to lift.

What sort of saves the day is we are taking almost nothing with us as far as furniture, put it all up for sale on my community FB page and its almost all gone. Since our new home in another close by state and will not be done until early next year we got lucky with a killer apartment in a gated community with a built in garage. Taking just enough furniture with us and storage for other stuff in the garage. Once we move to the new house will furnish it new.
... and here I am rambling on again ...
Enjoy your weekend!

Have fun in your new pad. My moving days are, I hope, over.
By the way, there is a lot of knowledge and information in this forum. Anyone who thinks they know it all, is, well, mistaken. We all have a piece of the puzzle. No one has perfect knowledge; things are in a constant state of flux. Wanna read a good book? Try "Educated" by Tara Westover.
