Electronic Service Brake Service Question?

I'm disassembling rear brakes to clean up sliders. So no retracting of caliper piston. Do I need to engage the Electronic Service Brake?

Just for lubing the slides, disengage the parking brake and pull the caliper like you would with any other. Depends on the configuration you may be able to pull one slide and hinge the caliper off leaving one still captive.

Do not engage the brake. You can remove the motor and get it out of the way. I suggest disconnecting the battery as well just to be safe.

Clarify that. Do you mean the slide(r) pins or do you mean the caliper brackets where the brake pads sit and "slide" ?

Just put it in Maintenance Mode and pull the caliper off if changing pads. If not, then just disengage parking brake, pull pins and lift caliper off.

Rarely have I pulled the caliper off and then not struggled to get it back on without having to depress the piston, at least a little bit. Makes me think that it naturally extends when there's no resistance on it.

I'd put it in service mode just to be safe.
