Weird Brake Wear

Today, I serviced my four wheel disc brake system to address some noise issues. (Squealing)

I wiped down the rotors and the pads with brake cleaner, then cleaned the pad shim, ears, caliper ears, and slider pins. I applied a thin coat of Permatex Synthetic Brake Caliper grease on all pad shims, slider pins, caliper ears, and pad ears. I finished up by doing 12 moderate near-stops from 40 mph followed by a several mile cool down. Everything is quiet now.

However, I discovered that my front brake pads are at 90% remaining after 13k miles. However, my rear brake pads are at about 50% remaining.

I saw no signs of brake dragging...nor does anyone drive the car with the emergency brake on. Both the front and rear pads are the AutoZone Duralast Gold, with the fronts being ceramic and the rears being semi-metallic.

Does anyone have any explanation for my odd brake wear?

Is this the saturn? I assume so...

Their little curly springs on top of the rear calipers that release the E-brake get weak. Also I theorize the e-brake cable takes a set in its twisty outer sheath, and does not properly always release because of internal friction. You can see this out in the parking lot by looking at the little levers they activate; they should be equal from one side to the other.

My brother in laws olds intrigue, with rear discs and "top hat" drum parking brakes had a wierd proportioning system. Very little use of rear brakes. They rusted. Then the rusty rotors ate the daylights out of the pads. Did a complete job of rotors and pads all at once and it's better for now.
