Efficiency Info on the New Mobil 1 Filter

What’s also interesting is that according to this post by @Glenda W. Service Champ is part of the PGI portfolio.

Portfolio of clients, a list of them. The clients are free to have other vendors of their filters too, or go elsewhere. I found the made in Korea Pentius PLXL to look about perfect cutting a new one open. As long as the media doesn’t restrict too much by chasing low micron numbers they should be good.

Exactly, I don’t want to buy a Silverado branded Civic hatchback in the same way as I reject a Mobil 1 branded oil filter.
Exactly, so you wouldn't ask "maybe Mobil 1 should stick to oil" as Mobil 1 isn't making oil. Mobil 1 is a product. That product is made by ExxonMobil.

Hmm I think this news make me rethink about oil filter. STP XL is my next choice.

I want try Carquest premium but I just Dont like buy a filter that some one had to pick for me.

I like take my time open and I inspect a few box and pick the one look best the most, mostly the box not get any damage lol.

And Oreilly. I Dont do Oreily since they keep refused take my old oil. With autozone I can just bring it in and drop it at their cart and worker will empty it for me.

When they are behind the counter you know other people weren't messing around with them. Just ask the guy who picks the Carquest Premium at AAP if you can inspect it before buying. That's what I did, and he had no issue with it. If it looks good, you won't find any others that look any better.

The PG is 99% @ 25u and they provide ISO test, mobil1 has no mention of how they measured it.
PG seems a better buy than mobil1. Not sure why its only rated for 10k miles? Not that it matters to me because I never go more than 10k on same filter…

I’m not sure all the new Mobil 1’s are any different than some of the PG’s. I have a suspicion that M1 has simply put a blanket rating on all their filters. I bought a new S. Korean 113a at Rural King this evening (cheaper than Walmart, btw). I will cut it in the next few days and compare it to a virgin Service Champ HP2222.

Exactly, they make a brand of motor oil called Mobil 1, and they also have extended the brand to cover oil filters. I think Budweiser should stick to beer.

The promised land is something to the tune of beta 75 to beta 100 = 20mu and "rated for" 12mu.

BITOG could hire someone like Highline Warren, PGI, M+H or Champ Labs to get filters made with "BITOG Ultra Premium" on the label. 😄
Yeah basically a redo of the fram titanium. Or something like a wire backed fleetguard with "12 micron" rated media.

wish we could band together for an E-core wire backed dual layered filter😂
One filter to rule them all.
