Anyone familiar with these products or reccomend an effective air conditioning condenser cleaner? Note, I am past the average Joe "need an airfresherner to mask the smell foolishness.

Background: I am fully aware that one should... A. keep their cabin air filter changed and B. shut off the Air Cond. a bit early and let plain air flow through and dry the condenser fins in the car. (to which my wife refuses, thus a musty smell)

Issue: Having explaind that the wife WILL NOT remember to dry the condenser by running the vent fan only for a few minutes. What product to use periodically when it gets smelly.

Products: 2 are foams spritzed "onto" the condenser via a tube and 2 are mists sucked into the lower intake vent and up through the condenser

Chemical Guys SPI_104_16 - So Fast Premium Air Freshener & Odor Eliminator, Green Apple Scent (16 oz)(not a foam)

Clean Air Duct Freshener (not a foam)

Einszett 961105 Klima Cleaner Professional - 8.5 oz (a foam)

Kool-It 96030 Evaporator and Heater Foam Cleaner (a foam)

The Einszett Klima-Cleaner definitely works. I've used it for years on all our cars. I do it once in the spring, and again in the fall.

It's fairly idiot-proof and takes all of 15 seconds.

I think you actually are talking about the evaporator coil. I have found, over the years, that if you just remember to switch the airflow from recirculate back to fresh (or, shut off recirculate) that will be enough to prevent the issue. You may still have problems with your wife's willingness to remember it, or anyone else's for that matter.

You would be cleaning the evaporator, not the condenser. The condenser is the heat exchanger at the front of the car, usually in front of the radiator.

I have no experiences with those brands.
I have used BG products and Interdynamics products for cleaning evaporators and A/C ducts. Those 2 I know are effective.

Typically BG sells to repair shops only, and Interdynamics A/C products are sold to parts stores. I got Interdynamics A/C cleaner at Advance Auto a few weeks ago.

Aha, yes the evaporator I meant.

. I wonder why the makers can't design, coat or program something to avoid this common problem.
