Not usually a parts snob but this Edelmann seems nicer than what I pulled off my dually. Nice braided line, about a third heavier, and had a 1/2" nut at the gearbox vs. 5/8". That little bit was nice as you had to flip the combo wrench each 1/4 turn on both. My line wrenches wouldn't fit between the two lines at the box. With the 1/2" line, it hand-threaded all but three-quarters of a turn.
Not sure how old the old one was but I know it only had about 15k miles on it. It was leaking at the rubber/metal line joint. I assume the Edelmann was made in Mexico, stamped MX on the packaging. Very nice quality. I usually buy Sunsong as I've had good luck with them but may switch after this.

I have 3 Sunsong brake hoses to install next on my Honda, will see. I just liked how well-built this was over unknown and I dont believe it is the Elite Series just regular.

I had a GMT400 saga where O'Reilly Sunsong (Precision) p/s hose simply did. not. fit. Got AutoZone Edelmann (Duralast, maybe?) and it was beautiful, practically installed itself.

Sometimes Sunsong brake hoses come with .030" copper washers -- TOO THIN!! But lately they've been .045" or greater, which is good.

Had a Sunsong brake hose for a 2nd Gen Ram flat out assembled BACKWARDS -- impossible to make it fit when retainers are in the wrong places and clocking of ends are opposite how they should be. I contacted Sunsong and it was clear I wasn't going to reach anyone capable of effecting change, so I just gave up.

^^oh also the retainers were crimped INTO the hose! Sketchy.

Bottom line: I still use Sunsong because they're ubiquitous but nothing surprises me. Be ready to source a replacement or different part. Trust but verify.

I don't work on pickups only Euro and the occasional Japanese car and the Sunsong have always been very good in these applications.
I guess that with trucks there are a lot of optional trims that use different parts?

That looks good. I put one in an old Saab PS that is a very complex shape, the metal part of the line goes all over the place from the right side of the engine under the radiator support and up and around the left side. I thought this is going to be a nightmare but almost unbelievably it fell right in place and I could thread the fittings with no fuss. OE is obsolete and not available so this was tormenting me for a while, very satisfied with the product.
