Seems pointless to me too.
AZs in this area no longer carry VC oil filters. STP is the value line there, nothing lower. Same appearance construction as VC/ACD ecore.
But I suppose if one has never seen one of those funky clicker type bypasses, it can be seen on the left non ecore ACD. STPs use them to this day on the non ecore applications. And it does indicate an older single pass efficiency rating being higher than multipass.
