Off of a 2021 Ford Edge 2.0 AWDSUV at work. On for 7,100 miles with bill Safety Kleen 5w30 DEX 1 GEN 3 synthetic.

49k on vehicle. No more ketal endcaps it appears.

I wonder if we are trying to get away from metal itself for cost and environmental reasons?
From what you said I'd be happy with these now.

Even less metal for shipping itself. The last fl820s I cut the can was only .010 thick... way too thin

Well ever since 2006 when I started where I am we always used CHAMP LABS and they used resin end caps so

Prime Guards still use metal endcaps though I don’t mind metal or resin.


More ketal endcaps: more scrap/shop money for our tool/shop fund at work

I really don't mind non-metal end caps. I guess I've been using too many cartridge style filters and none of them use metal end caps, and they always come out nice.

Maybe it's just this line (looks like a jobber line) of MicroGard filters using that design. You'd have to see the same exact line and model with something other than those end caps to verify if it's a design change.

I think the blow out sale they had was because of the design change. And EG always put that jobber line on most filters. The price is up and I'm seeing the full synthetic only a $1 more...the old version..

EcoGard is the economy line by Premium Guard. Typical of PG it looks great. I've never seen one with those endcaps, but they look stout, no concerns with those.

November 2023. That’s what I could make out. My work stuff don’t take long to rack up miles in weeks. All I can disclose.
