Eclipse 2024 Photo Thread

We are in about 90% range and a heavy cloud came over right around max coverage.

These were just handheld iPhone 15 Pro through a filter. DSLR photos later.

I can't believe clouds rolled in last minute. Was mostly sunny all morning. Figures. Saw a bit of it.

My daughters photo, we had clouds going in and out but totality was clear. The neighbors (and us) were excited.

The clouds thinned for a second. D800 with 500mm f/6.3 and filter. Handheld.

This may be my favorite of the photos I took:

The sun isnt as sharp but I like the tones around the edges.

I'm in the 100% zone by akron Ohio.
here are a few from my backyard.
no filter. 30x You arent seeing sun.. just the "nimbus" around the sun. it was an odd pic to take for
the camera.. super dark with a pretty bright ring so the ring is overexposed of course.

Filter and tiny tree limb blocking top edge of sun at aprox 70% eclipse.

Traveled a bit upstate to see some of the eclipse. Didn't travel all the way to the path of totality due to nursing damaged suspension on the 04'. Top pic is from the sunroof without a filter. It was dark even though it wasn't in the path of totality. Dark enough to see my lights on the ground.
