eBay filters

Anyone can make an ebay store front in ten minutes. Then buy clearance items at stores and sell them for more, or whatever method they use to get cheap items. Stealing, couponing, auctions, storage lockers, many ways. If you buy from them, no warranty. There are retailers selling on ebay, actual new car dealers. I would like to know if those FPS filters sold on ebay have a warranty from Fram. I tend to think not because they are supposed to be sold to installers not the consumer. Not that it is so important, but some people say it is.

Bought some blue Subaru oil filters for my FXT on eBay and they were fine. Think it was some dealership selling them in bundles.

Yep, great seller. Got a case of XG2 and 3717 pro versions. Arrived perfectly.

I like the look of the FPS filters better than the ones with the grip even though that makes no sense what it looks like. I was about to order a pack of six but then came back to reality because I already have enough filters in stock. I don't think those have any warranty, the warranty would be to the seller, so good luck asking them to go to bat for a new engine for you. Not that there is one chance in a million of that happening. Maybe they do have a warranty to you but I doubt it because you can't buy them yourself at retail. Fram ought to sell those FPS and forget the black grip, because they look good and people buy on looks.

Says who, one tools manufacturer? I really doubt Purolator or Fram would ask for a receipt to replace a cheap item like an oil filter if it had a genuine, obvious problem. But whatever.


Not long ago, there was a thread here about a FRAM that was defective.

The filter was crushed/failed early in the OCI and causing oil starvation in a BMW.

The OP just asked FRAM for a new filter and oil as a remedy since he was required to change his oil and filter early because of the problem.

FRAM asked him to produce a receipt.

When he did not, FRAM didn't do anything.
