I have NO idea if there is room in a Civic!!! The Ody looks to have the room...........

I'm starting to have doubts - it's VERY close but the gasket is wide. The mounting flange is not that big. I won't know until I change oil...........

Gawd I love this stuff!!!

Thats the ph3985 51626 sized filter that tends to be a little too big for some 20mm mounts. Some people have no problem with it. Others will have gasket leaks. Its filter brand and vehicle mount dependent. Good luck.

I screwed it on.....then chickened out! (What a wimp I am)

There was less than pinky OD space from the CV boot. I was afraid under load or bumps or whatever....the filter would hit the rubber boot. I ended up with my back up (last remaining) Fromda filter in place....

Should I have gone for it?

I think midsummer I would have gone for a few laps, driven it to work, etc....built up the confidence. Winter, with wife recovering from surgery, kids sick, up to my armpits in laundry, dishes, dogs, cats, getting kids set up, going to work.....I just changed the oil (ASM 0W-20in now) and stock filter... and done. Except the stupid OLM MM didn't want to reset. Arggghh....upstairs to dig through manuals with wife sleeping...no help.....decide to disconnect battery and wait several hours. Didn't change the display, but it did finally allow me to reset the OLM, which was displaying a hectic flashing -285 miles (which means I drove 285 more than 0% left on the oil life.) Rubbish. 6900 miles on the oil! This time I'm reseting it at 5%, changing filter and continue driving.

eheheheheh

Installed a EAO44 today. Sweet baby fits better than I thought.

The MM went off with 15% left at about 6K miles or so, unscrewed the Honda filter, screwed the 44 on, topped it up, fired it up and it purrs like a kitten.

No problem.

How does it compare size wise to the EAo20? I have tons of clearance diameter wise. Tried the EAo36. Had to have the wheels at full droop to install it and with weight on the car, the a-arm was too close for comfort so I pulled it off.

20 = 3.194 x 3.252
36 = 4.828 x 2.921
44 = 3.812 x 3.663

C'mon Mr. P, just because you can screw it on it there doesn't mean Jack S---! Show me a particle count... LOL! Like it would be much different than mine right?

Well, my wife might slather the road with liquid gold at some point ..but straddling the road ..that would be a new one for her.

Alright, alright......if the oil dumped now, it would be brown stains.

Pablo,

I know this thread is kinda old but is everything still going fine with the eao44 and the Odyssey?

Do you have any pics?

I'm seriously thinking about moving to the Amsoil filters and I am looking for the largest I can safely run for each application.

'07 Odyssey 3.5l
'00 GMC Sierra 5.3l
'98 Grand Prix GT 3.8l

Anybody else running Amsoil filters (expecially larger than specified) on these vehicles?

Thanks for any info!!

Kenny <>{

BTW, Pablo, I printed out your filter chart from another thread, that should help me a lot in picking out a filter for my applications, thanks!!!!!!!
