I agree with much of the above and do not agree with using a food product to make a fuel that is not, and will not, be the panacea that proponents of it would like us to believe it is or will be. It's a scam from the get go and it's making a lot of people very rich.

It's a bad idea. Period.

Nonetheless, I have not had any problems using it.

Thanks engineerscott, that sums it up nicely.

I wouldn't pay attention to what NASCAR does with ethanol, as they haven't been running it for long, and NASCAR tends to put a PR spin on most things, rather than be honest initially, until it comes out. By the end of the year or next, we should have a better idea of what's going on with ethanol in NASCAR.

INDYCAR has been running alcohol fuels for decades, including teams sponsored by gasoline makers, and now has Sunoco US as the official fuel of INDYCAR, as it is in NASCAR.

INDYCAR has been running E98 for a few years now and they wash out the motors with gasoline to prevent corrosion in the engine.

My results have been to use Stabil and run gas that is no longer than 3 months old in the can (all my OPE is 4 cycle) and it gets used each season and run out.
