Not so sure you actually look at all the facts ... history over the last 8+ years points that way.

Anyone with a filter cutter can cut open filters and take nice photos. It's what they say about their findings that actually counts.

I'm not talking about excess glue or a bent pleat or any of the other visual stuff that really doesn't matter in filter function ... that's all fluff BS to make biased bashing comments about something. I'm talking about actual functionality stuff that he has absolutely no clue on what he's talking about (mentioned above). And bashing the printing on the box then bad mouthing the oil filter because the box didn't have perfect printing on it ... is he reviewing oil filters or packaging - lol.

Sure, it's one guy's "opinion", but it's based on zero backup evidence of the claims - expect for a few photos showing a few visual flaws. Any guy with a cutter can be made to look like an "expert" reviewer and convince the unknowing that he knows what he's talking about. I see hundreds of them on YouTube ... many are pretty ridiculous.

I was more spot on than I thought with the definition posted. I didn't think my question on the M1 would be answered, because it taints the narrative. Good luck, why are you looking at oil filter forums daily when you are set on the Ultra for life? Since we are no longer talking about oil filters, but about the people talking about oil filters. No worries, remember this is about oil filters. When I no longer need dealer tire rotation because next tires will b e from Costco, I will start changing my oil again. I will buy the Walmart Supertech in the blue can and never be concerned further. Move on to flooring or gardening or something else. USA made by Champ Labs, fresh stock for under $3. Done.

LoL ... yeah, I don't ever talk about oil filters. What people say about oil filters, and their stated claims and viewpoints about them is also talking about oil filters - and viewpoints and claims can be questioned, it's all part of mostly technical driven chat board where discussions take place. Speaking of which, I'm still waiting for a detailed explanation on how a filter's bypass valve changes the way an oil pump pressure relief valve works. Or would details on how to grow some awesome tulips be more up your alley?

It was answered basically before you asked the question:

" ...but it's based on zero backup evidence of the claims - expect for a few photos showing a few visual flaws."

Obviously that wasn't faked - never said or implied is was fake. But like I said it's visual flaws that really don't do any harm from what his photos were showing. We've seen plenty of filters posted here with sloppy excess glue jobs, or other visual flaws that don't really impact performance. Case in point: Non-uniform or wavy pleats. As long as they aren't torn up (ie, Tearolators) it's just a "visual flaw" that doesn't change performance. If people only bought oil filters with perfectly uniformly spaced and straight pleats (in new or used form) then about 1/2 or more of the filters on the market would never get bought.

So true.

I could probably do a successful business selling oversized brake lines on diesel truck websites.

"HALF INCH INTERNAL DIAMETER hoses flow waaaaaaaay more brake fluid to your brakes calipers! Drop your puny 3/16" brake hoses that RESTRICT your braking, causing FATAL accidents!!!!! DOUBLES brake fluid capacity and resists FADE!!!!!!"

The folks who kept double blade wipers on the shelves for decades are alive and well. So is the mentality.

WellOiled, the very fact that your post and question was ignored gives you the confirmation.

M1 glue whoop-T-do … bet 90% of users burn about 30% of the useable life in those to start with … I'd take that over common holes in the filter like a FAR MORE popular brand …

I don't understand the guys focus on the bypass he seems to think it is important cold weather.

I don't know what to think about the defective filters, to me the chances of getting 3 defective major manufacture filters seem astronomical, but I don't want to believe he's being dishonest about it. Perhaps he's just very unlucky.
