I've been checking out their tires...and all I can find is the SP 60 tires...I was told that they make the Signiture(sp?) tire (t rated) for my car. (14s)

And nobody carries em'. What gives?

what kind of car do you have, have you checked around locally and online also? what dunlop tire series are you looking for?

Funny you say that. All they could find were the SP 60s.

Then again, they told me that GY is getting rid of dunlop too.....

You were misinformed. The Signature is not made in your size:

http://www.dunloptires.com/dunlop/display_tire.jsp?prodline=Signature&mrktarea=Passenger

But there are a few others tires that are decent. Yokohama AVID TRZ, Michelin HydroEdge, etc.

My personal experience with Dunlop has been quite bad. Will not be buying them again.

The 6-7 top rated tires in the class Standard Touring All-Season on Tire Rack are available in that size 195/70-17:

Pirelli P4 Four Seasons
Kumho Solus KR21
Yokohama AVID TRZ
Yokohama AVID TOURING-S
BFGoodrich Traction T/A T
General Altimax RT

Now I'm confused!

Sport A2 is an old model, discontinued by now, so check the manufacture date to make sure you're not buying something really old.

SP A2 was replaced by Signature, IIRC.

Hmmm..wonder why a big retailer like sears has them? They look like they are still in stock too...

because keeps old tires forever. we had them when i worked there and they were old tires. they were on the rack we would put outside in the sun that said "managers special" and yes i know it was bad, but making as little as that job paid, i really didnt care.

Goodyear bought dunlop several years ago. My uncle works for Dunlop.

I have yet to find a decent dunlop tire that I like for a car application, but dunlop does really well in motorcycle tires.

Well, the GT Qualifiers are no longer being made. Maybe you can find them somewhere. The Signatures are only an OK tire. They do some thing OK and other thing poorly. My daughters Mazda3 has the Signatures(205-55-16) and they don't balance well and are noisy as any tire we've ever experienced as a family.
My wifes Lexus has the Good Year Assurance Comfort Treads(225-70-16) and they're perfect for a Lexus.
My 04 Altima has the Pirelli P4's and I love them(205-65-16), use them in winter only. Summer tires are GY Eagle LS (225-55-17) and they are barely good in the summer. Look great though!

Our circle of friends/family have been using Kumho Solus KR-21's in a variety of sizes on sedans, mini vans ans SUV's. The SUV's in our circle are used as family/all weather vehicles, not off roadint. All love the Kumho's and not just for their good price, they actually perform quite well, balance great and are quiet. Longevity is not yet know amongst our circle.

If performance is what you seek, buy a high performance tire. If off roading is what you seek, buy an A/T tire. Deep snow...You get the pitcure. The tires that I have mentioned are all reasonably well balanced(doing all things well) tires for those who drive like our roads and vehciles were designed. And these tires fit the needs of familys who seek a good value.
