About 20 yrs ago, I realized that I burped vegetable oil all afternoon after a DD's honey dipped. There is better and cheaper coffee out there .

I cut my coffee consumption, but not out of health or me being overly picky, but cost. Given the amount I go through at the office, and taking into account I have a cupboard full of some of the world's finest teas, I just started bringing a Thermos of tea to the office. No, a Thermos doesn't exactly help the taste of the tea, but what the heck. It's better than $4 a day on coffee.

As to those who will say make my own coffee and put it in my Thermos: yes, I know, but my coffee maker is garbage and needs to be replaced, and I've simply not gotten around to it. The convenience of coffee store coffee is rather pernicious, it would seem.

Yeah as someone in sales on the road I've gotten used to the drive-thru coffee fix. And yes it can be costly which is why I stick to McDonalds / Timmies who are the cheapest and McDonalds has the buy so many and get one free. Cards and stickers are on each cup. Plus the XL is only about $2ish. McDonalds also has free coffee various weeks through the year and then their $1 iced coffee all summer long which I'm guilty of spending about $20 a week in the summer on because it's so refreshing. (I just sell more to earn more to pay for this. LOL)

I could do the thermos thing but I'm lazy in that regard and I'm usually on the phone (handsfree) while I'm driving or writing stuff down when I'm parked and on the phone and it's easier to grab the cup from the cup-holder than pour out of the thermos into a cup sort of thing so I guess it's also a convenience thing adding to my already laziness.

When I'm in my office like I was most of this week already (slow week), I brew using our coffee maker there and I usually drink most of the pot myself. Pretty good stuff wherever they are getting it.

Tim Horton's does the same up here. They don't actually make anything any longer. All they have to do is follow the microwave instructions and collect the money. Crimony, some of the worst food imaginable. It's basically akin to me paying them to heat me up a pizza pop. No thanks.

Why don't you head over to Robin's Donuts/
AFAIK, they still make from scratch.
If not, I'm sure you can find something from the small Ukranian bakeries in Regina

I was thinking more along the lines of "Credit Homo Erectus".
Has a nice ring to it

McDonald's is convenient for me going home for food, but not coming in for coffee. Go figure. I just chug from the Thermos, no pouring.

McDonalds definitely does have a good deal with their coffees, though.

Lolvoguy: I go to Robin's quite a bit, actually. I definitely like their sandwiches better than those at Tim's, too.

Rolla: I could do some beans and a grinder, given I've got a press, too. I've been considering that or a commercial coffee maker, since I don't need bells and whistles, but durability.

Mr. Coffee makers are good and I also have a Bunn commercial and a Tim Hortons Bunn residential unit. The best one is by far the commercial one but close second is the Mr.Coffee all 3 are old and have lasted the test of time. I have a couple because of company and I will use one for steeped tea from Timmies in the packets and coffee in the other and then I have the 3rd for when we have our family reunions and we can plug it in at the park we hold it at.

All what you adjust to drinking … had many cups of Tim's up north and OK to me, Dunkin just Ok … … Starbucks must have been salvaged by ServPro … So think the coonazzes have converted me to Community and I grind the beans for freshness. Bad part is it goes bad really fast if left on a burner so a carafe is good, a press, I even have a little pour through contraption for travel since every hotel has a water steamer …

For me, the two best ways to make coffee are with a French press or a good old fashioned percolator.

Grind the beans fresh. Stumptown or Black Rifle are two examples of good beans.

That's the crux of it. Just stupid, lazy, informal, etc. not that Dunkin Donuts was ever a formal term, but to halve the name just because?

Maybe this is being pushed by the same ad agency that set up the "IHOB" campaign?

"America Get's the Runs From Dunkin"

Mom and Pop donuts around here have a real issue with consistency as a rule. The only donut shop our van pool uses could have great donuts one Friday and the next Friday Mexican Pan would have more moisture.

I rarely eat doughnuts, but Yum Yum doughnuts in Pennsylvania beats them all hands down. Love their old-fashioned ones (basically a cake doughnut).

I've tried but the coffee at Drunkin' Throwups is terrible.

If I don't brew at home, McDonald's or Speedway are my go-to coffees.

Are they actually changing the name, or is this one of those "tricked ya" moments like when IHOP was supposedly changing its name to IHOB?

I'm too lazy to stop and get coffee at a gas stop, at least on a regular basis. If I'm out and about, sure; but not on a regular basis. Too cheap to make at home and put into a thermos. If I'm headed out for a drive I'll take the extra five minutes to brew a cup or two for the road. Usually I only have to fill up my car once a week.

Years ago we went from the standard 8 cup maker (which makes 4 cups) to a 4 cup machine. Makes a better single cup of coffee. If we ever move though I'll probably buy a standard maker and just make a carafe for the day.

Been wanting work to get a K machine as their coffee is awful--it might be free but I'm getting what I paid for. I'd be willing to pay for the stupid cups. As my intake ticks upwards I guess I need to bring more with me from home.

McD's coffee has been decent lately, but I still prefer to brew at home. DD, liked them years ago but something happened and I go out of my way to avoid.
