What's up with John Force and his new show ??!!
Is he trying to be another Ozzie or Boyd Coddington?

Based on the preview I saw, whatever his motivation he's going to come across looking like a horse's backside just like Coddington did. I'm surprised Discovery is still showing ol' Boyd, BTW. The guy is a complete jerk and that show can't possibly be doing his business much good. I'd never buy a car from him after seeing that mess. If you can't retain your best employees, you're not running a good shop.

I haven't seen the John Force Show, yet, but I have seen American Hotrod. The cars are great, but I can't watch the show. Again, buying a Boyd Coddington creation, I would think twice.

Chip Foose and his show, Overhaulin', is about the same as far as nonsense goes, but playing with peoples heads, will bite them one day, with a violent response, if someone goes off the deep end. I don't enjoy the games, but` his creations are great and his shop seems better, but then I only know what they show me.

American Choppers, with the Teutels, is the best because it was the original. I don't know how much is scripted, but Paul Sr. and his tirades are real for me and genuine. He does what many feel like doing at times, letting go at full-throttle! The family chemistry is there also.

All that matters to me is that I enjoy watching it and it gives me laugh, when I need one.

That's WWE these days, and slam it if you must, but it's often better written drama and comedy than you'll find anywhere else on the tube.
And Vince laughs harder than anyone, all the way to the bank.
(And if you're not down with that, I've got two words for ya!)

Driving Force is quite entertaining. John Force is a walking, breathing cartoon character. Between that show, Rescue Me, Dallas SWAT, Family Guy and several Discovery Channel shows, I seldom feel the need to rent DVD's.

After seeing the Cottington show a few times I wouldn't let Boyd or the guys in that shop work on my lawn mower. Plywood floor parts, running an engine for 5 or 10 minutes without any oil pressure, etc. There are plenty of kids in HS shop classes that know more than that crew.

People may buy his cars to look at them but after seeing how they're built I'd expect them to fall apart in just a few short miles.

it's fake but entertaining, his daughters are OK.

not as funny as American Dad but still funny.

I have to come out in defense of plywood floor parts. They are good enough for buses, tractor trailers, stages, boats, in fact almost anywhere you would want to stand. Plus in an automotive application they would also be useful for dampening vibration. They have been the traditional method since day one for mounting T-Bucket bodies, so it isn't exactly like this one shop is doing something new.

However, I AM underwhelmed by everything else about Boyd.
