You've alluded to your employment before so I understand where you're coming from. That sucks..... There's gotta be a way you can be treated like anyone else when doing private sales of anything though. I mean, what does your boss say to people who call him about something you sold them ? He can politely but firmly tell them to screw off and that it's a private matter and there will be no employment-related repercussions towards you in the matter.
Ohh, he probably would, he's an awesome guy and a great boss. I'd just rather it not be an issue at all. I never want to have my honesty or ethics questioned if I can at all help it. Just not worth the time and hassle these days. Too many people run off to facebook with pitchforks raised any time they feel the least bit slighted. Not saying its right, or that I don't have a spine, but for something as minor as disclosing what happened to a car that not disclosing might get me another $50, its not worth it.
It does have its advantages though. Any time I sell something I usually arrange the meeting for when I'm at work, covered by 100 cameras and armed. The chances of me getting ripped off = 0%
I did have one dude back out when I insisted that the only time and place I could meet him was at the courthouse/jail. He was either wanted, or wanted to rip someone off out of 2 tires I was selling.
