Drinking water lab testing

Long story, but I have a friend that is dealing with some serious liver health issues, and one suspect is heavy metals in the water sourced from a well that flows through old galvanized pipes. Anyone here know of a good lab at a reasonable price? Just googling, prices are well over $100, and often triple that. And many (Texas A&M) say not for drinking water. I ordered those cheap strips on Amazon to have a trial against distilled as a control, but not hopeful. Any help is appreciated.

Talk to these people first:
Texas DSHS. Chek out DSHS environmental water testing. They do a variety of testing for small fees.

Problem with RO, distilled and Zero type filters is with everything technically removed there goes taste and texture as well. Especially for coffee use, that sort of thing. As well as Zero filters destroying any decent pH/alkalinity as it sees more use before replacement.

If I get it right RO water isn't good for drinking, neither is distilled water. They may be a better choice rather than poisoned water thou if those are the only choices.

The RO not for drinking is news to me. I may have to search that up. I was contemplating it for me, as I have CKD. Our water is mostly fine, but the cleaner the better.

Water testing is not cheap anywhere.

$100-$200 actually sounds rather low, depending on the test.

The liver CAN be impacted by heavy metals, but typically there are other symptoms. Is that what his/her doc is saying?

Been drinking RO water for 40 years. Fine for me and the wife.

Nothing wrong with drinking pure water as long as you get your minerals from food/supplements. I have never relied on tap water for Mg, K, Ca, Na, etc
