Heard a customer say that to his buddy when stopping by at Kragen for a new sponge. Good advice, I must say...

Ahhh, that's why I'm lost. I loathe that show.

My better half loathes it, too. Actually, it's Seinfeld's whiney voice that she finds objectionable. I must have seen every episode at least ten times by now.

It's a show about nothing.

Kind of. That's how it's always been sold. But it's really about social behavior in a modern urban setting. It sports some of the funniest and most quotable dialog ever on TV, one of the loveliest actresses ever (Julia Louis-Dreyfus can look cute even when she makes faces), and the most consistent character-actor performance of all time (Jason Alexander as George).

I find it odd that Shannow doesn't get it.

I don't think Julia Louis-Dreyfus is all that good looking but boy can Elaine dance!

The quotes live on. How could someone even post on BITOG and not know about shrinkage?

The bootlegger, the Cuban cigars even the one with the chick who thought she was Chinese....Kramer constipated.....nooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Julia's face hasn't aged well (though she's far from ugly in her new sitcom), but she's still sexy.

Let us not forget "The Bet," in which they all wagered on who could longest remain "Master of His Domain":
Kramer (as they sit at the coffee shop): "I want in on this."
Jerry: "You? You'll be out before we get the check."

George (describing the time he pretended to be a marine biologist): "The sea was angry that day, my friends. Like an old man trying to send back soup at a deli."

Jerry (at Elaine's astonishment after Kramer has neatly cracked of her neck to remove a strain): "And the amazing thing is, his formal training is in pediatrics."

I still say the show is about social behavior and constraints on it. Remember the episode when Jerry sees that Popi (Reni Santoni), the owner of a restaurant where Jerry is eating, doesn't wash his hands after using the men's room and before going back into the kitchen? I'll bet a lot of people were more conscientious about washing their paws after a bathroom break after that aired. There are also frequent discussions in many episodes about how soon you can break up with someone, how to do it, how soon you can start dating after your fiancee has been poisoned by cheap envelope glue, and much more.
