I have for your amusement a cut open Donaldson P551132 oil filter. Was installed on my wife's 2022 Ford Bronco with the 3 cylinder EcoBoost engine. In use for 5K miles using Mobil Full Synthetic 5W-30 motor oil.

Filter is stated to have a 99% @ 17 microns efficiency rating and is off catalog application using it on passenger vehicles with primary use for heavy equipment using the Cummins B3.3 engines. Filter performed fine with no anomalies noted when used.

To go to other side of filter filter efficiency, I replaced it with a Purolator Boss PLB10241 with Quaker State Ultimate Durability 5W-30 motor oil.

Nice looking filter. Can you try the burn test on the ADBV? I'm assuming it's nitrile (will light up) but on the off-chance it's silicone, that would be interesting.

Nice C&P @Hootbro

Here is a virgin P55132 cut open with comparable Fram Ti, Endurance & Amsoil filters:

Thanks. Your previous thread actually put this on my radar to try out.

How was the ADBV sealing? I noticed this is a 2021 filter that still has the rivets on the sealing edge of the ADBV. Any startup rattle?
To my knowledge it sealed fine with no start up rattle noted. It is a horizontal mount on my wife's Bronco Sport.

I picked this one up at a local "FleetPride" truckers part store last year and was on clearance for like $5. Wrapping on it looked like it been around awhile.

I will say it is not necessarily a filter I would chase unless I found some on sale or clearance for a good price.

I think they're good filters. Even with a bit of leak by, on the Fords you can just do the flood start to crank only & build up oil pressure prior to starting.

I did just pick up a pair of the big brother P169071 Syntec media Donaldson filters for the transmission on my F150. Will be doing a spill/fill & swapping the Fleetguard that's currently on there for the Donaldson in a few weeks. FleetPride as well. These were half the price at FleetPride than the Napa down the street.

Attached is the oil analysis this filter was run on. Disregard the stated micron rating on it, just boilerplate I forgot to update. I did not have fuel dilution checked but obviously there was a bit as it went out of grade but not by much.

Can't beat those results. Does it call for 20 or 30 grade?
Calls for a 20 grade which I used for the first few oil changes then switched 30 grade before this one. Attached is the Blackstone results of my prior analysis which was 20 grade sampling for the three results. For various reasons, I have moved on from Blackstone for my oil analysis going forward.

Thanks for the details. Nice little buffer.
