What would be the value of doing a used oil analysis on a fill with MMO or Seafoam added in at the end of the run? My performance tune thinks its running rich and I want to do a confirmation used oil analysis to see if fuel dilution is high (although I don't have a baseline to compare it to), but I also have a couple of noisy lifters that I want to try Seafoam on.

Would I be better off doing the used oil analysis on the current fill, then dumping it for some cheap oil and Seafoam, running it a couple hundred miles, and then resuming with my normal oil and filter combo? I'd rather not waste too much, but if the additive will throw off the used oil analysis, I'll certainly seperate them. I'd like to get as much useful info from the used oil analysis as I can. Thanks.

Pull a sample when draining 1 qt; send to B-S; top off with "open bottle" oil and your solvent of choice. Run 1K and drain.

YM, literally, MV.

I thought of that on the drive home today, but I'm thinking now to pull a sample out of the dipstick tube and send it off and then Seafoam.

Does the sample kit from Blackstone come with a pump to do this?

No, but B-S sells an extraction pump. I bought it, then lost it.

I would just start to drain, then pull the sample and reinstall the drain plug. Top off.
