does walmart oil change use royal purple bulk oil?

hey all i know no one is a genie in a bottle and can guess what they use but i bought a used vehicle and the walmart sticker seems to say

R1P or RIP oil 0w20

I am using this RP is probably royal purple ? im confused why there would be a 1 or an I in the middle

any idea what the oil could be?

At the Walmart near me that performs oil changes, they give you a choice between, Super Tech FS, Mobil1, Castrol GTX, Pennzoil FS and Quaker State FS.

Synthetic (up to 5qt) and filter change for $54. You can chose RP etc. for an up-charge

Walmart will let you pick bottled oil off their shelf at a reasonable price for them to change. Not like VIOC that goes from $30 to $90 over $5 worth of oil.

The manager at the Hawthorne, NJ VIOC told me that there was no differences among transmission fluids.

Was that one pig of a manager or a "once good guy" who succumbed to corporate pressures to economize...at your expense?

Prices here are $65 for Valvoline R&P oil change service.

$55 for M1, Pennzoil or Castrol synthetics.

$45 Quaker State synthetic or HM synthetic.

The more I think of it. Seems like it probably is RP for resort and protect. I called the Walmart it went to but the guy wasn’t helpful but he did say Restore and protect us one of the premium oils they use after getting it out of him

Just had my grand marquis changed at Walmart...they don't offer royal purple. They had Quaker State full synthetic, Penzoil platinum, Valvoline R&P and a couple lower quality choices. I always go with the Quaker state full synthetic 5w30 at 6,000 miles

i think that concludes it, i prob have some VRP in my engine rn! won't compare about that but the fram core oil filter i could complain about

Fram core filters are very much up to the task. I’ve seen them cut open and they look great. I wouldn’t sweat it

Doubt it. Probably don’t even use super tech but something else that Warren puts in 55 gallon drums or whatever they get cheapest

My understand was that Walmart oil change just used bulk SOPUS product and anything beyond that was a customer request shelf pull product. There is no bulk Warren/Supertech oil used at Walmart.
