Only question I have is how do Dexos and Ford's wss-msc-946a compare on a spider chart? Dexos has the advantage in terms of volatility less than 13% limit to Ford's 15% limit. Other than that what are the advantages of Dexos approval over Ford's?? I bet that Ford's specification is a bit closer or surpasses Dexos in some performance metrics. The only Ford spec on the Lubrizol spider chart is quite close to Dexos. I do agree that if Motorcraft had the ACEA A1\B1 that it would be helpful indeed.

OK but that statement means nothing. In order to carry a specification it needs to list the specification on the container, not a blanket "Meets most major gm, chrysler and ford specs" in a personal email to one individual.
My experience has been that if an oil truly meets a specification they tend to advertise that information. Also in my experience when something doesn't carry a specification, the language you posted is what they use.

Nope GMBoy Motorcraft can not meet DEXOS the NOAK is too high along with ash. Once again Motorcraft 5W30 in the American market is nothing but API SN/ISLAC GF-5 lubricant along with the rest of entry level Phillips products.
