We clearly don't but auto OEM's like to run on global standards whenever possible.

If you do care 2-EHA is also a very toxic substance. Its fatal to fish - leaking cars end up in the water supply. Your not supposed to touch the stuff, which is hard if you have to repair anything cooling system related. Yes, obviously wear nitrile gloves but still.

Ethylene glyccol is toxic. Motor oil is carcinogenic.
When the USA EPA bans 2EHA let us know. Until then I’m not going to worry about it. I guess to each his own.

FWIW, I have Prestone Cor-Guard AMAM coolant in a Toyota Sienna I had to reseal the valley plate(thermostat housing) for several years, plenty of road trips - no coolant leak or loss. I did use Toyota’s super duper expensive RTV to reseal the valley plate.

Someone posted a UCA on factory Toyota pink from a Japanese production car(GX460, assembled at the Tahara plant), and it has <6000ppm of 2-EHA but plenty of sebacate. Both are plasticizers with effects on silicone(RTV) - and valley plates love to leak on the UR-family V8s but it also happens on MZ-family V6s.

When I owned my Toyota Tacoma 3.4L (oe LL red), I ran long time bitog favorite (my observation) no 2eha Peak Global Lifetime Concentrate. Never missed a beat, i.e., no issues. In addition to PGL, Peak now makes newer no 2eha Titanium AF.

As for an earlier claim of SLL pink now using 2eha, beyond some nebulous hearsay reference to it's use, still no "reliable citing" as desired. Again, sebacate is not the noted 2eha. So for me the SLL 2eha "reliable citing" remains, ......

PS: I've had no-2eha Peak Global Lifetime in my 2008 Corolla for years without issues. I used the last of my stash last Fall and will probably go with Titanium next if I still have the Corolla in 4 or 5 years.

Last year I put peak asian red in our 2004 rx330 during a major service. Im now replacing the radiator and will need to add coolant. I'm not entirely sure if the version I bought in late July was pre - 2eha changeover - the sds update in May I think. Regardless because this engine has the notorious rtv valley coolant cover (that I've repaired), I'm thinking of filling her up with zerex red and not using the now 2eha peak.

Zerex red : phosphated hoat or p-hoat
Peak red: poat

Will these play move in the sandbox together if I don't fully flush the block and heater core and just refill the drained peak red with zerex red?
