Does lower ZDDP protect less or for shorter time?

I don't think there is much of anything that will protect an engine, in the 240-250C range. 240-250F, sure. At 240C, things have pretty much melted into an unusable pile.
 
But we're specifically discussing an engine at operational temperatures cooled by air or water cooling.
