I am within a few months of getting new tires on my Corolla.
I also feel that I want a wheel alignment.
Would it make any difference if I got the wheels aligned while the old tires were still on it?
In other words can I get an alignment and then replace the tires in a few months? Thanks

You might regret it if you find a sale on alignments when you buy four tires. Or if the tire store eventually welches on a treadwear warranty because you can't prove your alignment to their snooty specs.

The car won't notice the difference. They clip the gizmos to the rims. Tires just have to hold air and be the same size.

Wow, that's something I've always wondered....many people say to get the alignment AFTER the new tires, so you "align" the new tires....but yea, I can't see it being a problem, unless of course the "old" tires are seriously "out of round" or something....that could possibly affect the alignment I suppose :P

Personally. I always align new tires. The old ones are going to be taken off anyway and if they're worn uneven there might be a difference with the new even tires. J.M.H.O. enjoy the new rubber.

You can look at your old tires to see if you need an alignment or not. If they are wearing evenly and at a normal rate, and the car drives fine, what can an alignment do for you?

Alignment is an often overlooked way to help your gas economy.
Tire wear is just the most evident upon initial thought.

A deal is probably best if you can get both at the same place.
So I'd look into that while time is on your side.

I hit a pothole yesterday and that always makes me worry about my alignment. I'll probably wait and do both together. Thanks
