does every GM come with keyfob remote (2006) ??

got a 2006 truck, only got one key by itself with the truck. supposed to get a second key from dealer i bought it from in near future. My question is, does all GM cars come with the remote that locks/unlocks the doors? Initial impression I got from dealer for this truck was truck did not come with keyless entry if that's what you want to call it.
The truck is a 2006 GMC sierra with SLT trim, it has sunroof, dvd player for rear seat, power everything, find it very hard to believe that it did not come with keyless entry. Looking through owner's manual it looks like i should have a remote for the dvd player.

Ive got the same question about my 04 safari. It only came with a key and the rpo code sticker was torn off the door and painted over. Id like to get a remote if my van has it.

Most GM's came with a FOB post 2000. If you can access your Owners manual it should give you a description of the Radio/HU and if its programmable. If so buy a fob off Ebay that is shown for your car and get it programmed(either yourself, or post 05 might need a Tech2).

They do not all have it. The dealer should be able to lookup the build sheet and tell you if it had keyless. If you can supply the last eight digits of your vin I can look it up for you...

Hence why I said most. It's a cheap addition on a car and most lots/dealers throw it in at little to no cost.

I would say a 2006 Sierra in SLT trim definitely came with a set of key FOBs from the factory.

Only the most basic models came with keys only. My 2007 Chevy Cobalt LS was FOBless. No power locks, roll-up windows, etc.

If it came with power locks, then it came with a fob...

My dad's 2007 Pontiac G6 does not have a key fob.

That truck does have remote keyless entry (fobs) and yes, it came with 2 from the factory. If the dealer doesn't come thru for you - get them off ebay as they are much cheaper.

And yes - you should have a remote for the DVD player and TWO sets of wireless headphones. I've got a 2006 Sierra as well (Denali model)...I can get the part # off the remote if you need it to buy one.
