Both Mobil 1 0w-40 and Mobil 1 5w30 are now Dexos1 approved. Is it, therefore, correct to assume that both can be used in the same vehicle as long as the viscosity being used is approved by the manufacturer? The 5w30 has the GM Service Fill, GM 4718M and GM 6094M, while the 0w-40 doesn't mention the Dexos1 approval on the bottle but does list the GM-LL-A-025.

That's news to me, particularly because I wouldnt think that GM would want everyone running it in any old GM engine (fleet MPG reasons).

Wait, are you sure mobil 1 0w-40 is dexos 1??
The only 40 wt oils i see are Dexos 2, which is Gm's diesel spec

The only dexos 1 oils I know about are all 5w30, with the exception of a single 5w-20 on the list.
