Does Auto-RX burn off?

I'm currently running a 3 oz maintenence dosage of Auto-RX in my truck. I just had to add 8 oz of oil 2,500 miles into this oil change.

Since the Auto-RX is mixed into the oil, does it burn off with the oil or does just the oil burn off?

I suspect it is consumed slightly in the combustion chamber as it cleans. I wish I knew more about the exact process, but I have also observed this with synthetic oil in a gummy engine. As the oil cleans and the rings kinda take up a new position - some of the oil/Auto-Rx gets on by and is burned off.

Not to worry, seems normal just keep the oil level up as necessary. The nice thing is: when this process is complete, your oil consumption will be at all time lows.

Whether it is mineral oil, PAO, or ester, it will volatize if the temperature is high enough. However, most esters have higher evaporation points than do other fluids.

Expect any ester to evaporate slightly.
