The link says I'm limited to 35mph? for NH that is. Not clear if it's limited to 35mph roads or what.

Road legal kei cars in the following categories can go as fast as you want

1. Antique
2. Previously Government owned

Both have a federalized title without limits

Some states allow NEV/LSV over a certain age to go higher speeds but you need to stay off the interstate, Wisconsin has some old case law on this subject that could be argued for owner rights to modify if the low speed vehicle is 10+ And public usuage on high speed roads as long as a low speed vehicle sign is displayed.

one guy would drive them on the interstate anyway and have to pay a fine once or twice a year but the fine was cheap enough that he didn’t care.

In the case of medium speed legislation (35mph) you are allowed on 45mph roads

However, Generally if you aren’t a fragrant dbag the police will ignore an LSV on surface streets going the speed limit,

I’ve had my fathers 25mph+ NEV on county trunk highways 40-55mph, display slow moving vehicle sign, keep right and be curtious and nobody cares.

freeway you do so at your own risk

I've had quite a few of them over the years

Amazing little vehicles

Picked them up from Disney's property control auctions for ~$100-$500 depending on drivetrain and condition, but they all ran great

The Daihatsu HiJets with locking diffs are the ones of choice, but I preferred the Mitsubishi MiniCabs since they had more headroom and parts could easily be sourced through a catalog at my local Mitz dealer

There is something wickedly charming about a vehicle that uses your own knees as part of the crash intrusion system/front crumple zone. ^.^

Kidding aside, the years I spent working at a campus' Comp. SCI. and Electrical Engineering program for the college of engineering: you couldn't turn your head and spit and not hit one of these things. Everyone from the university's physical plant workers to the student union had one. (Deliveries, carrying of materials, tools, workers)

Slowly they were being replaced with Deere Gators as the older Daihatsu fleet was aging out. I was sorely tempted to buy one at auction (they came in lots of five) but I was an apartment dweller at the time. No place to put it. :/
