Does 2011 GLK350 Mercedes M272 GDI require a Valvoline Restore and Protect Colonic?

OK Why does the pcv separator cap have to be replaced? Is it just the rotating lip seal that goes bad? Thanks for the info.

Not a problem. Yes, when the seal isn't tight enough, instead of only pressurized air going through, you have oil vapors too - leading to gunk on the throttle body, intake, and oil burning. If that seal lip goes bad rather quickly, maybe your separator is getting wobbly and needs replacement too. Here is a little more info CLICK.

What problem are we trying to solve other than dark oil (which is easy to fix by...changing oil)?
I had poor car history from the previous owners...I was hoping that I could reduce imagined internal deposits that the normal oil change interval could not touch. Like you state...there were no obvious mechanical problem at this point. Just high mileage 121k. I might have actually done some unintentional engine and intake manifold flushing by spraying CRC intake Valve cleaner into the PVC line after the cenrifugal separator. I did not realize there was a low PVC separator...I now believe that some of the ~1-1/2 cans went into the sump and the intake valve cleaner diluted in the oil during the Italian Tuneup is responsible for decarbonizing and cleaning the internals, resulting in the darker than expected draining. Hopefully I didn't do damage and hopefully the Intake valve cleaner was beneficial to any intake flap deposits and did not embrittle the plastic tumbler flaps. There are some mistakes the we can learn from...

Imaginary deposits can be dealt with by an imaginary cleaner.

121k is not high mileage for an M272. Pretty common to see them go 200k+

On the original timing chain? Asking for a friend...
Similar design, but not same engine. I have 149K miles on one M276.8 zero timing chain issues, I have 73K miles ( and about 45 quarter miles drag passes) on the second M276.8 engine and have replaced one tensioner.

My coworker's 2011 C300 has 198k miles, original timing chain. She has had issues with the car, but none were engine related, mostly electronics and brake line issues.
