Dino, only if that is all I have at the time. Syn, yes. I prefer 40 weight oils for air cooled engines. 2 quarts capacity.

Do you use 5w30 in your mower? Yes....but I have to check it often

Does your mower hold 2 quarts? More like a 1/4 of a quart

I've used Mobil 1 5w30, Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 or Napa Synthetic 5w30 in my push mower for about ten years. It's worked very, very well.

It may not be what you are looking for, but I thought I would contribute.

I've been using 15w 40 in my zero turn kawasaki engine. Delo 400 in there now. I may try some amsoil 15w 40 ame in it this spring, and in my generator.

EDIT : I also use a fram ultra 3614 filter on my zero turn.

I'm going to give you a pro-tip for anyone that lives in Florida (or like climate)

SuperTech SAE30 is $2.XX a quart. All you need. Nothing you don't. Expensive oil is a waste. The cheapest 15W40 on sale oil is also is good choice.

And OP, you quoted your own post (W-T-F) to hock some ridiculously expensive waste of an oil? Rolls eyes. Dont bother wasting money on such products.

Lawn tractor? Used M1 5w30 many times …
Then used Delvac 15w40 … Last couple years Delo 10w30 from clearance …
Do still use Briggs Synthetic 5w30 in the pull start … but got it yellow tag for 2.99 quart

Nice to see it's spring and the lawn mower thread is active again.

I looked up my posting last fall to to see I used some Rotella T-4 10w30 and a bit of left over Laser brand 30 weight. Mine is a push mower with a Honda GCV 160. It holds 13 oz.

Rookie Tip: On a Honda GCV you remove the the dipstick, wipe it clean, then push it in, but do not screw it in. Then pull it out and check the level. If you screw it in, you will get a wrong reading and have a low level in the crankcase. This is from the manual.

I used to use nothing but straight 30w, but the last few years I also use multi vis. oils as long as they are full synthetic. Or semi synthetic 15w40.

I've used 10/30, 10/40, 20/50, sae 30 conventional in various mowers and ope over the years, with varying sump sizes. I think I put a quart of castrol 0/40 in a generator once because it was the last of some clearance oil I had. Right now there's castrol sae 30 in my push mower, 1/2 qt capacity; a mix of delo sae 30/formula shell 10/30 in my dad's riding mower, qt and a half capacity; mix of Fred's 10/40/havoline 5/20 in my grandmother's riding mower, qt and a half capacity. Never seen a reason to over think ope oil, and that mindset has finally trickled down into my automotive oil selection. Buy what's reasonably priced.

I use 5-30 in my push mowers and my snow blower and generator. I use 0-40 in my garden tractor because it is used in winter for snow duty. The tractor holds 2 qts.

And that method is what I like least about my Honda mower.
