Hello,
Is there a mower blade built for leaf suction. I used to have a neighbor, he mows the leaves on his property and even on the street fronting his house using his mower. He never had a leaf blower. He can clean his property within an hour vs. me for 2 hours. I felt enviuos what blade he was using. My mower can suction leaves but I have to do 3 passes because they're oak leaves. If it was maple leaves it would be easy since it usually sit on top of the grass.
Thanks

May have been the mower was better designed at mulching.
I have a old John Deere je75 and at my old home I had a dozen mature trees I gave up raking with that mower it would turn leaves into a fine mulch

I forgot to state, he used the mower bag to clean up dried leaves during fall.

Look up "high lift mower blades" and see if you can find one in your application.

Thanks I'm going to look it up. I know there are some parts in the USA that has snow already but here in Texas, on winter is when the leaves start falling. It's kinda messy since I live in a heavily wooded area subdivsion

All I do is mow the "Opposite" direction to mulch up what I previously cut up. Not perfect but simple mower blades is all I have.

They make mulching blades and high lift mulching blades for some mower applications. Their effectiveness can somewhat depend on deck design and if you can cut your lawn at a lower height around 2 1/2" - 2 3/4"

I think you have the answer. All along I was mowing 3 inches high. I'll lower it down to your recommendation. Why I didn't thnk of that? I believe this increases trapped air from the bottom to improve more suction to bag leaves. Then on summer return it back to 3 inches to much. Thanks

I always do in one direction. Next time I'll do both Thanks
All you need is one direction. What I mean is the discharge side would be blowing onto uncut grass/leaves. Keep going in that direction & you will be mulching up what you previously cut up a second time.

I found over the years that my bagging / high lift blades work well for pick up but not so much for breaking them down so bagger fills up very fast. I still have to empty that to somewhere. I normally run mulching blades and my mulching plug on my JD LTR166. I mulch my grass about 95% of the time unless I'm having a party with kids/pool etc.

I will take my backpack blower and blow a lot into the cul-de-sac and then run over a bunch with the mulcher. I then use a snow shovel or flat metal shovel with paper bags and one of these Leaf & Lawn Chutes. My town picks up bagged leaves so mulching first reduces them at least 5-1 if not more.

If I'm trying to clean up better before winter I'll mulch first 1-2 passes and then just remove the mulch plug to bag it and go over once more 1 setting lower. Any stuff left is not really noticeable and basically broken down to help fertilize for the spring. I have 1/2 acre with lots of leaves. I have a pile on side/back that gets the mulched leaves and grass clippings at times. I rototill it randomly and that breaks down to so nice rich dirt I use to fill in all the holes/low spots from stumps that were ground down and rotting. Great for garden also if you have one.

Really depends on your property and what you do with them afterward.
