Do you normally mulch, bag or spread mow?

Combination - depends on the season. When there's a ton of leaves, I bag. If we get good rain and have lot's of green to mow, I mulch it in. Most of the time I just spread mow.

Whatever comes out the discharge on the side of the mower is what stays on the grass. Never seen the point of bagging or raking grass or leaves.

I have been reading a little lately on this topic. Mulching provides the same nutrients as one round of fertilizer. But one needs to aerate once a year to let the micro nutrient get down to the roots. I have also read one needs to dethatch if you mulch.

Interesting that the robot grass mowers cut often enough you never see any clippings.

i mow 3 acres, don't have any interest in bagging have 2 different decks for my john deere...if the grass is high , side discharge ..not so high mulch deck,mulch deck doesn't do to good a job in high grass

I too have 2.5-3acres I cut. Way way way to much work to bag and too long to mulch. I don’t have any problems getting the grass to grow either lol

No aeration, no dethatching and I had, by far the best lawn on the block. As far as I'm concerned both aeration and dethatching are to make lawn service companies wallets green vs the actual lawn.

I did however, water and fertilize regularly as well. Neighbors mostly bagged and their lawns were nowhere near as lush & green but they were too sparse with the water.
