Do you ever feel like only you do oil changes?

Don't really think about it much.

I'm probably the only one who does their own car service on the block, maybe the sub division, but I'm not watching everyone 24x7.

I'm sure most take their cars somewhere and have it done.

The point about checking the oil at the filling station is a good one. I'm the only one checking my oil.

Of course the Prism leaks a bit, so it's prudent to check.

I don't know a lot of people who change their own oil - but most people seem to have it changed on a regular schedule at least.

The gas stations here around town have too much traffic for anyone to be checking their oil. They'd be holding up the next guy in line to fill up. I recommend doing it after dinner or on a Saturday morning.

Or Sunday Morning...

Driving around the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area I wonder sometimes because I see a lot of late model cars and trucks smoking..I also see cars going up in flames out on the interstate..I wonder sometimes if they ran out of oil as I NEVER see one person in South Florida ever check their oil.

Besides that at least 1 in 2 cars had a blown tail light..For some unknown reason it seems most cars in South Florida do not come with turn signals.

I see so many folks driving nice cars who absolutely floor that poor vehicle to get up to speed instantly, only to have to slam on their brakes for the stop light ahead. Some folks I see do this every single time. It is amazing to me.

It makes we wonder how long there car will go without a major repair, etc, not to mention the hit they are taking on fuel economy.

My son's SO is like that ..or at least I reason so. She burns through front pads and warps rotors on a quarterly basis. My son is good for about a year+. I'm around 2-3 years.

I don't care about other people's oil changes. Half the time that I mention synthetic oil, people's eyes just glaze over. Matter of fact, when I've tried to GIVE away oil to people visiting my house, I've yet to have a taker. No one changes their own anymore.

Most don't even care what kind of oil/filter the oil change place uses and regularly go over the recommended intervals.

A true BITOG nightmare!
