A local dealer has a slew of 2–3-year-old Ford Edges off Michigan lease. Ford Exec vehicles maybe? Anyway Carfax on all of them is spotless save for dealer preps for sale and registration renewals. Do performed warranty repairs show on Carfax? Just not buying none of these had any repairs at all. They have had the usual Ford recalls but those don't show as performed IIRC they just drop off the outstanding recalls list, correct?

Thanks!

Yes, I sold my Rogue a few weeks ago to carvana I was curious to see what they had my vehicle listed for and I seen on the Carfax that the previous owner had the motor mounts replaced under warranty.

While looking for a newish Jeep Wrangler I noticed on the Carfax when some were in to check suspension, charging system etc with repair and parts noted. I think vehicles under warranty are more likely to have repairs noted on Carfax. We bought a '24 that was bought, serviced, and traded back in at the same dealership. I doubt the previous owner took it to Harry's Auto and Taco Shop for a transmission problem that didn't make Carfax. ;)

On cars out of warranty Carfax can tell you things that did happen with the car but possibly not everything.

Maybe, but don't count on it. CarFax depends on dealer reporting which, to my knowledge, is optional.

Same for accidents and maintenance items.. sometimes go unreported to CarFax.

It just depends on if the dealer doing the work reports to Carfax. Most Carfax reports are missing a lot of information about a vehicle's history. It's a tool, an overpriced tool imo.
I had that with my Genesis. It didn’t have any of its laundry list of repairs or services at the Genesis dealer on it’s CarFax, then all of a sudden the dealer imported everything one day.

I've always heard it's optional, but would be surprised that any dealer work gets left off of Carfax the way most dealers use a vehicle's Carfax as a sales tool.

I know it's hit/miss in the small shop world. The ones I use report to Carfax.

The 2015 Colorado I bought recently had extensive service history on the Carfax, some of which I verified with the auto shop. There is not a single line item for warranty work.

Yes some Mercedes dealers just report "vehicle serviced". Others will report line items on the service.
