Maybe not little per say, but things that we take for granted or never even think about for that matter.

1. That traveling half way across Kentucky is a big deal, but I can get on BiTOG can talk with people from such diverse places as Washington, New York, Australia, England, and Singapore.

2. That I can track something online - I just ordered some books the other day, and with a number, I'm able to find out exactly where my stuff is at:

3. What amazes me the most at the moment is that I live right next to (well, a couple miles away) an international airport. The fact that I, without anyone knowing, could simply miss a week a school, buy a ticket, and literally go anywhere in the world I want.

4. That I have seventy something channels of cable TV and a super fast internet connection in this little dorm room.

5. Motorized transportation in general.

And many, many other things...

And I still can't find anything to watch! I liked it better when I was growing up. An antenna with NBC, CBS, & a snowy ABC.

I really wonder what my dad did before CNN & C-SPAN.

Jelly, I'm amazed that a small, poor, suburb of Chicago I spent a lot of time in, would be posted by someone hundreds of miles away who's never been there!

Also, I'm amazed that the colors and splendor of a sunset cannot be reproduced--you must see them for yourself to get the full affect of the experience.

I visited Arizona once. I will never forget my first sunset there. The sky was red, the same color as the soil there. I felt I was on another planet. For those of you that live there I'm very jealous of you. I would trade the wide blue skys of Kansas to have the most beautiful of all sunsets that Arizona has.

Shannow - I agree, both my daughters have been blessed with the ability to laugh (I wonder why)...and way earlier than 2 years old

True story.....my youngest was just born...I mean it wasn't the first week or anything but she was just a few months old and my oldest daughter simply stuck her face up close to the baby...and the baby just started this really loud full belly laugh, I mean she was a pretty happy baby up to that point but she hadn't laughed yet.....we knew we were in trouble!

Agreed! Nothing brings me a greater feeling of joy on this earth than seeing my 3 year old son happy and laughing! I never imagined the powerful feeling you get when you become a father. My life has never been the same (in a good way)

Patman: Give it another 12 years or so, and enjoy (try to anyway) the way he laughs when he realizes that now, he can wrestle you to the ground at will. I'm dealing with this painful little issue myself at the moment. . . Hint: when he makes the HS football team, it's all over for you.

I am amazed by (and greatful for) antibiotics when my kids need them.

Turning a faucet and getting an endless supply of fresh pure water.

Watching anything heavier than air flying through the sky.

Some days it doesn't take much to amuse me.

I swung by the beach today (on Delaware Bay). The normal waves have been replaced by a couple of hundred yards of sea ice tucked up all the way to the shore. It's been very cold of late.

It was so amazing to be at the shore and NOT HEAR A SINGLE SOUND. The constant sound of waves crashing is something you don't think about until it's GONE!

The smell of the pines and firs when hiking high in the Cascade mountains.
The warmth and love my three dogs give me every single day.
The relaxation of a good smoke on my pipe.
The amazing ease to surf the web and visit the entire world in your home.
The soothing sounds of a train passing in the night.

I think Mr. Blake said it well:

"To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And Heaven in a Wild Flower
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour"

I'm amazed at coyotes walking down city streets as if they owned them at daybreak.
Mostly I'm amazed by love, and what it does to us and for us.

Sunrises... waking my young sons up for an early morning country drive of deer and sunrises. Recently when in stlouis my hotel room's view was of the arch and guess what the sun came up right thru it. cool.
Can't ever forget the sunset while in the Grand Canyon. Way cool.

I don't know why but that is the best sound to fall asleep to....zzzzzzzzzz......

Best sounds to wake up to are from my one year old daughter babbling and laughing in her room. I go down the hall and say "Hi Gwyneth". She says "Hieeee".
