Do people still use home stereo systems?

I still have a set of Realistic Mach1 speakers with 15” woofers and liquid cooled tweeters. Run them with a 100 watt amp and mostly use CDs as a source. I had to reform the woofers, all original other than that.
Yes, we mostly use headphones, but when I’m alone I can crank up the tunes and relive my childhood.

Yes, as good as Bluetooth can be.
The best part is if you order it on Amazon just make sure when you order it it says 30 day free returns and if you don’t like it, return it.
We do that for everything 🙃
Amazon is getting to be like ebay now, bunch of cheap junk.

The good news is it cost you nothing to return it. But you could buy the same brand name stuff there as any place else.
I’m no fan of Amazon, but sometimes I find it invaluable

Like when we moved to a new house less than three years ago, and we were purchasing a sound bar for our TV. Received a $900 Sony free shipping and we compared it with a bunch of other brands but ended up with a JBL straight from JBL.

To return it no problem one click of the mouse drop it at a UPS store for a $900 refund. We also tried some others. I just can’t remember the details.

Then, of course, you have motor oil windshield wiper blades, oil filters, all the same stuff. But most of all my wife is a return queen. I can’t even believe Amazon will sell to her, drives me crazy every time I go out we have to stop and drop off a return at UPS.😂

Pretty much anything you could find in the store chances are you could find it on Amazon or Walmart or Best Buy

I have a probox 800watt sound system on my side by side, and the guy who bought it new paid like $4k for that sound system. I think it's the most horrible sounding system ever. You hear electrical noise in the speakers. Supposedly I can add a noise isolating filter and it will stop that ringing sound.

I have a couple of these big receivers things, but they don't have bluetooth. Most times I just play music through my computer, but if I wanted to get more of a full sized stereo receiver with big speakers, I guess I just have to buy a new one with bluetooth audio? Do people still use these though?
When I'm the only one home, I use the phone or computer and the chromecast on the TV, to send music to the 40lb low tech lump under it, to run some Sound Dynamics R85 speakers. Not an especially impressive home system, but miles ahead of anything portable, other than a good set of headphones.

If OP needs AirPlay support on a budget, WiiM Mini would work well. It can also be connected via optical cable to the receiver and supports lossless.

I have an old Chromecast Audio connected via optical to my receiver. My ancient Logitech Media Server recognizes it as a player, so I can stream my entire local audio library (mostly FLAC and some MP3) through it.
I have 2 of those Chromecast audio pucks, one in use and the other stored away. Best bang for $15 for sure when you could still buy them.

Streaming sound blows CD quality away. Not even close
The SQ of a CD is so dependent on the quality of the DAC and CD's vary so much in quality, even the same title. I have a couple of CD' s that sound better than anything else I own in any format. Jethro Tull's Original Masters on CD and Fleetwood Mac's White album that contains Rhiannon. Early CD's of Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Welcome to the Pleasuredome is right up there, just production flaws lowers its ranking. As far as streaming goes, I get good fidelity from YouTube music. No one offers up specs these days, so I judge by ear.
