Hi Friends
W163 2002, ML320, Car feels too bouncy. Not sure if it is related to the shock absorbers or just it is how this car is supposed to be.
Can you see if shocks are bad, and if so, how bad they are.
Highest Regards. :)

It's hard to tell because the first video is in slow motion and the beginning of the second is also slow motion which seems to exaggerate the suspension motion. In the video that is normal speed, it doesn't look that bad. Is the car bouncy? Can you press the front or rear of the car and cause it to bounce? If the shocks are good, the car shouldn't bounce and should return to "center" quickly. But if the car has high miles or KM's you would likely benefit in replacing them.

Yes. To Pass New York State safety inspection, the shocks only need to be connected on both ends. (I mention NY regulations only as a reference point, I realize you are in Azerbaijan) However, they are not supposed to bounce like yours do. Yours are worn out. New shocks will improve the ride, and shorten braking distance on rough surfaces.

I couldn't tell from the "test" shown in those clips.

Heaving concrete slabs (a closed store's loading dock-part of an otherwise blacktopped parking lot) created a 9" drop over which I'd drive my sister's '88 Jeep at ~35 mph. That old XJ landed, rebounded and was perfect.
Believe me, I wanted to change the shocks but didn't need to.

I would bet most times shocks age on a normal schedule. They don't have to be 100% shot to be bad.
Sometimes, going by that Jeep, they last and last.

An '05 Saab 9-5 Aero in the family had all 4 corners go out @ 100K mi. They began grunting horribly.
I got the premium Bilsteins for it and the ride became amazing.

Those Bilsteins sold the car for me when the time came.

Hello from North Carolina, USA. You can get these shocks from RockAuto.com for $22 USD. They are cheap and will make your MB ride nice.

My state, North Carolina is also near a place called Georgia like where you live in Azerbaijan. ;)

The ML is a pretty floaty and bouncy vehicle. It doesn't look really bouncy yet. When driving on a bumpy road, does the vehicle keep bouncing? Do all four tires make good contact when braking hard on a bumpy road? Shot shocks can creep up on you but on a rough road you should be able to tell.
