do I dare use my new Green Synthetic P/S Fluid?

Recently I noticed that both BG and MOC (which we now carry at my dealership) offer a full synthetic "Green" Power Steering Fluid. So I called my Vesco Rep (who supply's our MOC product) and of course like most reps he didn't even know there was such a product. Anyway, long story short. I told him it was "Ultima" Synthetic Green p/s fluid, and to send me a case to try out. (we use the red right now) So today it shows up. I'm just wondering if I flush out BG Red power steering fluid and replace it with the pretty-cool looking green fluid? (What goes better with Blue coolant than green p/s fluid) So, here it is. What do you guys think?

"THIS PREMIUM SYNTHETIC POWER-STEERING SOLUTION COMBINES EXCEPTIONAL LOW TEMPERATURE FLUIDITY WITH OUTSTANDING SHEAR STABILITY TO MEET AND EXCEED THE MOST STRINGENT PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS OF MAJOR OEMS."

Never had any problems with normal fluids.

Do they charge more "green" for the green fluid?

No, no problems at all. Just something new and different. Do they charge more? I'm not sure, I told him to "give" me a case to try out, so this one was free. I'm guessing that it may be a little more expensive because it is a "full synthetic" vs "semi-synthetic"

What's the bottle wrapped to the jug? why would it be needed?

Do the flush and post your experience.

VOA/UOA time?

MSDS can sometimes hint on what is so special of the fluid. Is it an ester, PAO, or just another group-3 synthetic?

When are you supposed to use it

..I mean it comes paired with the new WIZBANG fluid.

Or is this like a Whitman Sampler.

Oil is like a box o'chocolates. You never know what you're gonna git.

I saw the 'package' somewhere. If the PSF is so great, why do you need a 'conditioner'? So, I had to ask!!!

A good synthetic PSF shouldn't need anything added to it.

You should contact MOC and toss them the same question I asked!

I asked them that when they switched us over to moc. He basically gave me some clueless line about "some vehicles.....blah blah blah..... seal conditioner... blah blah blah" The same conditioner comes with all their fluids. I guess it is there to make the customer feel like they are getting something special.

How much per gallon?

I see that you use the Reynolds software. All the dealers around here use ADP.

i just love ReyRey. it does make billing really fast, especially when you know all the keystrokes for billing out LOFs without looking at the screen or keyboard.

It's another way to siphon money from your customers. The Honda dealer I spent a year of torture at used their "universal" PSF as flushes, against Honda's desire for their fluid ONLY.

I will say this though about MOC - I have a cache of their fuel injector cleaner in my garage and their brake flush machine is probably the easiest way to flush and bleed a brake system.

I've used both. Reynolds is by far the fastest system to use since it is not webbased like the new ADP software. It just looks old and out dated, but it does the trick.
