I was recently skimming the Castrol website and reading how they advertise Castrol GTX in that it perfoms 57% better at preventing sludge than other brands. Then I read the more sensible stuff they had and how they described the best way to prevent sludge is to simply change your oil and not extend when you are within sever service.
What I want to know is, do they REALLY test their conventionals against Pennzoil, Valvoline and others? And, do you really think that GTX is 57% better than the other major brands?
As most here have stated, any SM oil is going to perform almost equally, so how does Castrol really substantiate this claim?
